Manchester Airport is the most used airport in what can be described as the North of England. It is popular because it is pretty central in the North and has excellent transport links connecting it to other parts of the country. The transport also circles around Manchester to ensure you don’t get caught up in the heavy congestion of the city centre. Even though there has been such investment to provide an excellent transport system, many people still choose to drive to the airport. Terminal 3 is one of the most heavily used terminals at Manchester as most of the flights here are either domestic or going to major European cities – all popular destinations, especially with budget airlines. The car park near terminal 3 has been built to cope with such demand; every day they are many hundreds of cars parked up, yet it’s never full!
Pricing here isn’t bad either – with it being up north you don’t have to pay the sort of premiums as you do down south for parking. With the more southern airports for example, prices for short term parking are pitched around £2 for 15 minutes, yet 3 hours of short term parking at terminal 3 at Manchester airport will cost you a mere £2 – that’s under 20p per 15 minutes – much cheaper than the likes of Heathrow! Long stay car parking will work out to around £1 an hour, but again there are huge discounts to be had should you take a look around and book well in advance.
