For the music lovers, City of Fire will be playing at Manchester Academy 3 on January tenth. If you’d rather hear John Mayer, then wait

until the fifteenth of January and go to Manchester Apollo. Abba Forever, Wolfmother, Laura Veirs, and many more musical artists will be performing in Manchester during the month of January. Order your tickets online for a better price and guaranteed spot in the audience.

To get to any of these shows you’ll need transportation. Waiting for cabs is not fun and can be pricey, so it’s best to book a Manchester Airport car rental. Castlefield – Manchester’s Hidden Treasure

Castlefield is often overlooked by most tourists going to Manchester. However, Castlefield is home to many great cultural attractions that are not to be missed. Tourists should definitely stop by the Castlefield Art Gallery which has a substantial showcase of modern art. There’s also the Museum of Science and Industry, which won “Museum of the Year” in 1990. Quite possibly one of the most unique museums in Manchester, the Museum of Science and Industry gives tourists a chance to see the history of the city, from Roman times to present, in technological terms. Definitely worth a stop if you’ve got any type of curiosity for science. Down the street is the Air and Space Gallery, which houses numerous historically significant aircraft. Here you can find the Triplane 1, the first British plane to fly. As a bonus, opposite and slightly south of the Air and Space Gallery, you can find recently uncovered remains of a Roman fort.

Finally, be sure to check out the waterways when you’re in Castlefield. Historically significant, as it allowed Manchester to become an industrial powerhouse, the Waterways area of Castlefield has been converted to something truly special. Here you’ll find plenty of old warehouses and factories that have been converted for modern use, being turned into hotels, shops, restaurants, and offices. You can also get a ride down the river on one of the many famous Bridgewater packet boats, so be sure not to miss that.

Manchester has plenty of options for even the most discriminating tourist. Some, like Castlefield, are just more hidden than others.
