I’m not going to name anyone specific, but I will say that I have a couple of friends who act like the world is always out to get them. Although I love these friends to death, I have always found this type of attitude to be a little strange. I guess the reason I think it’s a strange way to be is when you look at the problems these people have in their lives, the most common cause is themselves. While I could never get them to admit this, as an outside party, it’s quite clear to see. Whether it’s something major or just a little issue that they are upset over, if you trace the course of events back to the beginning, it’s almost always a result of something they did.

As a recent example, one friend was in a frenzy over her troubles getting a Manchester airport car rental. While she wanted to blame every airport and car rental company employee at Manchester, the honest truth of the situation is that she hadn’t made a reservation ahead of time, and she happened to go during a very busy time, so there were virtually no unreserved rental cars. If she would have taken ten minutes to make a reservation on-line, she would have never encountered this issue!

Just over two months ago, my wife and I took a short trip to Manchester. We both realised that we had some vacation days available at our jobs, and that if we didn’t use the vacation days soon, they would simply expire and we wouldn’t have an opportunity to use them. Since we didn’t want our hard earned vacation days to go to waste, we sat down and discussed where we thought we should go. After talking for awhile, we both came to the conclusion that going to Manchester would be a lot of fun.

I was really pleased with how easy it was to make the arrangements for our trip to Manchester. Instead of having to spend a lot of time taking care of everything, I was able to use our computer to get everything booked in a short amount of time. The arrangements I made on-line included our flight, hotel room and even our Manchester airport car rental. I know some people are apprehensive about making their reservations on-line, but we didn’t encounter any problems during our time in Manchester as a result of making our reservations on-line. In fact, it actually made our trip go much more smoothly!
